Applicant's Discrimination Claims Against HUD Dismissed

LVT Number: #27340

Prospective tenant, a 68-year-old disabled Vietnam veteran, received benefits under HUD-Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (HUD-VASH). Tenant sued HUD, HUD-VASH, and landlord after landlord rejected his application for housing at landlord’s affordable senior housing complex. The court dismissed the case against HUD and HUD-VASH. Tenant failed to identify the denial of a protected property interest, and he lacked a property right in the provision of case management services. The court also found no violation of tenant’s constitutional rights.
